We re-open Dec 20, 2013 for the Christmas and New Year holidays and with our new Innkeepers;Riley McGurk and Mallory Deyne. Here is a short introduction:
Riley was born and raised in the Rocky Mountains and has lived most of his life in Canmore. Riley traded in his hockey skates for a pair of skis when he started working at Skoki Lodge. He spent many seasons at Skoki learning the tricks and trades of the backcountry lodge and came away with very fond memories. He transitioned from his seasonal job at Skoki to a year round job with the Alpine Club of Canada. Through working at the ACC he was able to travel to some of the most remote accommodations in Canada to fix or rebuild anything that was needed. Also allowing him to explore some amazing terrain through climbing, hiking, mountaineering and skiing.
Mallory grew up in Northern Ontario with cross-country ski racing taking up a lot of her time and energy. In 2008, after visiting Canmore many times for races, training camps and summers in between University, Mallory decided to make Canmore her home. A year later she finished ski racing and took on the job of managing the Paintbox Lodge, a boutique hotel in Canmore where she worked for a few years. Mallory now loves to spend her spare time backcountry, down-hill and x-c skiing in the winters and running, hiking and biking in the summers.
The gypsy’s, Chris and Shari-Lynn Williams, after seven years of Lodge life have moved to the east coast of Canada and looking to spend some time there in their new home.
