June 15th - Chloe Albert - This has been a last minute add on for the Lodge and what an add on it will be!! Chloe was named the 2008 Top Newcomer at the Canadian Folk Music Awards for her first CD and still one of our personal favorites Desired State. Well 5 very long years later comes her 2nd CD titled Dream Catcher and we are thrilled to have Chloe doing one of her CD release parties right here at the Lodge. Word trickled out on this in the past few weeks and we are already half sold out, so if you want to start your summer off with one of the sweetest sounding voices in the country contact us quickly! www.chloealbert.com
June 22nd - Kat Danser - We are once again thrilled to welcome Kat back to the Lodge. Kat was a key member of the CD recording and did an extensive amount of work during the recording as well as prior to and during the October tour in Alberta. The Queen of the Swamp Blues was a nominee for New Blues Artist of the Year at the Maple Blues Awards in 2012 and the winner of Best Roots Blues Album of the Year by the Blues Underground Network. On top of all of this she has received her Masters in Music and is currently working on her PhD – wow! This will be a beautiful evening of heart and soul by a fabulous storyteller..www.katdanser.com
July 13th - Lori Reid - Canmore based Lori Reid is one of the founding members of The Fates and just months ago released her new solo album Temperance Hotel which is climbing the charts on Galaxie Radio. To add a little more local flavour, her CD was recorded at the Canmore Hotel and was produced by Colin Linden. We are thrilled to have Lori to the Lodge and look forward to welcoming another member to the Engadine ‘family’. I know she is working on her new website but for now check her out at lorireid.ca
July 27th - Karla Anderson-Spady - Yes, for all of you who ask me, “Chris, when is Karla coming back to the Lodge, she is so amazing….”, well now you have it! Amongst our staff, Karla is simply known as the ‘Voice’ and for those of you who have experienced her live in concert – it is magical. This will be the third trip to the Lodge for Karla with our series, but she was also involved with The Engadine Sessions as well. Several rooms have already been booked for this weekend in anticipation of Karla playing, so book in quickly for this one, I promise you a magical evening – this woman can sing! www.karlaanderson.com
August 24th - Del Barber - Yes, we are thrilled to be hosting one of the hottest singer songwriters in the Canada and with his 3rd CD, ‘Headhunters’ we are all in for a treat on this evening! With his 2012 nominations for Solo Artist of the Year at the Canadian Folk Music Awards we can expect a fabulous evening of story telling and beautiful music. September 7th - Ann Vriend - Edmonton based Ann has been on our wish list for a few years and fortunately we were able to convince her to join the ‘family’ this year. Ann has been touring extensively in Europe and Australia and her latest CD ‘Love & Other Messes’ led the Toronto Star to give her a 4 out of 5 rating and the brief but pointed message of “Don’t Miss Her!”. Mount Engadine Lodge is very excited to release its first CD!! It has 14 songs that form the compilation album called The Engadine Sessions – Come to the Mountain. Songs were recorded by Suzie Vinnick, Kat Danser, Cori Brewster, Karla Anderson, Chloe Albert and Cara Luft.

It was recorded at the Lodge in late April of 2012 and was released in September 2012, all coinciding with our 5th Anniversary of the series. We are thrilled with the CD’s final release. In addition, we would like to thank all the great alumni of the Music in the Meadow series, and all the great support musicians who have joined these fabulous singers and songwriters.
