Adventure

Western Canada is known around the world for its sweeping wilderness, and the majestic landscape of the Rocky Mountains ranks among the top of any visitor's must-see list. Less than two hours away from Calgary, our lodge is surrounded by alpine lakes, hiking trails for seasoned pros and beginners, and a mountain backdrop that will leave you breathless. Situated in Spray Valley Provincial Park, Mount Engadine Lodge is your gateway to outdoor adventure - no matter the season!

In Springthe melting of ice and snow provide an enchanting soundtrack to nearby trails preparing to make host new growth and delicate wildflowers. You may even witness baby animals taking their first steps into the world. In the Summer, navigate our creeks and rivers in a canoe, or survey the landscape from the top of a mountain. Autumn is our favourite time of year, as the acres of forest leafs become a rainbow of blazing yellow, orange, and red for the guests who venture out into the hiking or bicycle trails before Afternoon Tea. Of course, Winter is not to be missed either, as the clear, crisp air and peaceful solitude of a morning snowshoe trek is the perfect way to start your vacation.

These are just a few of the many outdoor activities that our guests can enjoy - explore each season for a full listing of what you can find just outside your door. Need help planning and exploring? Find out which of our popular Outdoor Packages will best suit your needs!

Get off the tourist route and sample the delights of Alberta

"A friendly and helpful team run the lodge to give visitors the best possible experience. We stayed for 4 nights and were able to see a variety of wildlife and do some hiking in the surrounding Provincial Park….The views of the meadow, river and mountains were spectacular from our room, the restaurant and decking…Everyone sits down to meals at the same time which was a lovely way to meet people and learn from them ideas of good places to visit….We enjoyed our visit and would recommend it to anyone who wants to get off the tourist route and sample the delights of Alberta, Canada.”
