The Gem of Kananaskis Mt Engadine Lodge is the jewel in the crown of Kananaskis. The team working at the lodge is exceptional making our four-night stay meaningful, memorable and incredible. We're a three-generation family (ages 18-85) who all found fun, relaxing, restorative and adventurous things to do alone and together. Shared meals (breakfast and dinner) anchored our day, and the meals were amazing! We loved our entire experience!

Glamping Fun! Mount Engadine Lodge is not the easiest place to get to, but it always seems to be booked up - why? because its definitely worth the journey! The staff are brilliant - everyone we dealt with was friendly, engaging, helpful, efficient and reliable. The food is really good quality and there is plenty of it - from afternoon tea, through dinner, breakfast and then a lunch pack on departure. Accommodation in the glamping tents was perfect for us (2 adults and 2 children) and we all slept well after an afternoon of exploring the local area on foot, and an evening playing Board games - helped by the adults having a bottle of wine. So much packed into an overnight stay. This was our second visit, and it won't be our last....

Cozy Experience at Lodge Engadine - with 2 kids We had an amazing time at Lodge Engadine in Kananaskis last Sunday after hiking Tent Ridge. We were joined by my sister for a delightful tea service and stayed in a charming glamping tent. The location is truly picturesque, nestled right in the heart of the mountains. With the kids (2Y and 4Y), we enjoyed a cold plunge in the river, savoured a delicious meal, and relaxed by the complex. The highlight of the evening was a cozy night’s sleep by the warmth of a fire in our glamping tent. We loved the proximity to hiking trails and the stunning views of the mountains and valley. The food was top-notch, and the service from the staff was exceptionally attentive. Overall, it was a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience nature in comfort!

Fantastic experience at Mount Engadine Lodge Amazing scenery and I was extremely impressed with the enthusiastic customer service. Staff were eager to accomodate us and they even made an empty room available to us at no extra charge given we were a party of four adults (we arrived with our adult kids). The cabin was charming and the food excellent. But the staff were the real highlight, along with the scenery.

Another fantastic Family Stay Engadine Lodge is a great place for families young and old. This was our third year there with our 20 year olds and this time with some friends as well. (And our dog) The food is excellent and the staff is outstanding - friendly, welcoming and helped make our stay so great. The Lodge is a great base for X-Country skiing in the Spray Valley and Peter Lougheed Park and afterwards we really enjoyed the afternoon tea - charcuterie board and sweets - and games/reading in the comfy lounge area. Engadine Lodge gets better every year and we’ll be back again in December 2024.

I can't say or will ever be able to fully articulate what a wonderful experience we had there. From beginning to end ,it was a joint effort by every member of the staff that made this the best experience of our lives...... the only experiences that top this was the meeting of my wife and the having and or acquiring of more children. I can't thank the staff enough for all they did for us. And I also have to thank our son and daughter-in-law for choosing this place for their wedding.

My daughter and I came to Mt Engadine Lodge for our first time in January. I had heard about the lodge years ago and had wanted so badly to go, but couldn’t afford it as a single mom of several children. The lodge generously offered a discount for healthcare workers at the time, and so this was my chance. We stayed in the Raven room, and it was so bright and roomy. We had an amazing view of the valley and the mountains across from us on the first day. It snowed the second day, so we took advantage of the fresh powder and hit the cross country ski trails close by. The trails were peaceful and quiet and it felt like they were set just for us. We worked up an appetite enjoying the outdoors and were rewarded with delicious beautifully presented food for all our meals. We met two couples from the States who had both been to Mt. Engadine several times over the years and couldn’t say enough about the food and hospitality. We spent time by the cracking fire nibbling on the beautifully presented charcuterie and sipping tea (the waiter accidentally melted his billows in the roaring fire he created for us ☺️. I think he was trying to impress my daughter). We barely had room for dinner, so recommend you come early for tea. The room was comfortable and had lots of hooks to hang our wet clothing to dry. Everyone was friendly and welcoming and Geeske made sure we had everything we needed and answered all our questions. Thank you to all the staff who made our stay so memorable!

Wonderful glamping experience in the Rockies Wonderful glamping experience in the Rockies. I visited solo with my two boys and we had a wonderful time. The staff was so nice and made sure the kids were good. The bed was so comfortable and the kids slept in. The food was delicious and the area is simply breathtaking. It's important to note that it's in a remote part of Kananaskis Country and that there is no cell service, and wifi only in the main lodge.

Engadine Lodge stay Our family has been going to Engadine Lodge for over 25 years, and this is the first time that we cannot give it a 5 star review. There was a different vibe, more money driven than on previous visits. The cost of our stay increased significantly from last year as did the cost of all alcoholic beverages especially the $40 corkage fee per bottle of wine! The food ranged from exceptional to one main course that was substandard.

Winter at Engadine We loved our stay and the kids would love to come back. The meals were great, and we were well fed. We originally planned to go skiing between our two nights but with the lack of snow recently decided to stay around the lodge. It was a lot of fun for the kids to toboggan on the hill into the meadow and for us to try out snowshoeing. The setting is amazing and lots of games for the family. Two nights is great to be able to relax and enjoy the area and the amenities. The staff are also all very friendly.

A Secluded Mountain Paradise in the Heart of Kananaskis Country Mount Engadine Lodge is the only place we have ever been that offers the charm and serenity of a backcountry lodge without the need to hike, boat, or fly in. It feels like you’re walking into the cabin of a friend or family member. The staff are always warm and inviting, encouraging the guests to make themselves at home. The main lodge boasts two fireplaces and a living room stocked with games and ample seating. It is also home to the dining room which is lined with large windows to show off the jaw-dropping view. Each stay at Mount Engadine Lodge is all-inclusive, meaning you are in for a treat! This includes breakfast, a packed lunch, and a 3-course dinner. On top of that, you get afternoon tea accompanied by a scrumptious charcuterie board. They are awesome at accommodating dietary restrictions, too! When we visited this winter, we stayed in the Writer’s Studio. This pet-friendly glamping tent includes a fireplace, a king-sized bed, an ensuite bathroom, and a private deck. These tents are an excellent combination of comfort and rustic for an unforgettable stay. They are toasty warm all winter long! Thanks for an unforgettable weekend, Mount Engadine. We cannot recommend staying here enough!

Thanksgiving retreat This was one of the most relaxing family holidays with everything taken care of for us. A beautiful setting in Peter Lougheed Provincial Park with exceptional hiking trails nearby. Star gazing at night from the deck along with meals prepared and excellent quality rooms, what’s not to enjoy! This is a destination not to be missed. Our grandkids (4 and 7 ) put on 23 kms of hiking in two days. It will keep you plenty busy with the assortment and level of hiking trails nearby. A perfect setting and holiday.

Amazing place. Loved it Lovely little inn away from the crowds. Staff were amazing. Food was incredible. Rooms were good. Lots of nice walks to do in the local area. Our kids were happy too. They thought it was the best hotel ever (and the parents agreed). My only (small) complaint was that the room was a bit hot with 5 of us in it.

We spent a memorable time at the Mount Engadine Lodge and loved every bit of the backcountry retreat. It. Is a perfect spot to unplug. It’s unique location adds to the charm. The team at this all-inclusive gem spoils the guest with the best. Right from the delicious meals to lighting the fireplace for us, the team went an extra mile to ensure we experience Mount Engadine Lodge to the fullest. Since Mount Engadine Lodge is an hours drive from Canmore, in the Kananaskis Range of the Spray Valley Provincial Park, it is accessible by car. The afternoon tea at the Mount Engadine Lodge is refreshing. We enjoyed the thoughtfully curated charcuterie board as we soaked in the panoramic view view of the mountains. The family-style dinner was a great experience as well. All the meals were served in a bright dining area with stunning view of the mountains. We stayed at the Lodge Kind Room Owl unit which is a part of the main lodge and relished waking up to a beautiful sunrise. In addition to the main lodge, private cabins, yurts and glamping tents are also available. To help visitors truly disconnect, there are no in-room telephones, computer jacks, or televisions. However, the lodge does offer free Wi-Fi for those who need to stay plugged in. We were provided packed lunch for our outdoor adventures based on our dietary preferences. We enjoyed every moment at Mount Engadine and can’t wait to be back for a longer duration next time. Highly Recommended!

Magical Location Great lodge with incredible access to a tremendous selection of world class trekking. Good food. Good staff. Great vistas. Very pleasant deck. Comfortable lidge Abundant wildlife. A bit crowded at times within the central building likely from the addition of accomodation options with glamping tents and cabins. At times families with kids were raucous which some may like but others not so much. Morning breakfasts (8 a.m.) rather late for early morning hiking starts. All in all though the lodge is highly recommended.

Went with my wife and three kids and we had the Moose suite. It was an excellent family vacation. The food obviously is a highlight, but being able to get out from the lodge and go snowshoeing was so nice. The games room was another highlight, and we spent a lot of time by the fire playing jenga and other games. Overall it was an incredible experience, can't wait to go back!

Our Engadine Get Away We will never forget our Engadine experience. It made us closer as a family as we created precious memories of the picturesque views of Engadine. Famity Glamping trip Excellent mountain location away from it all! Cozy basic glamping tents with comfy welcoming main lodge provided fun family holiday. Snowshoeing and sledding were a huge hit. Food was excellent and staff were extremely friendly and accomodating. A nice change from a large resort. No TVS or WIFI in rooms made for a much needed electronics break but if needed WIFI in main lodge was available. Dogs had a blast and were very welcomed.

A Winter getaway We went as a family for a one night glamping experience and wound up staying for 3 nights! We enjoyed exploring the area on snow shoes and going tobogganing (the kids loved the toboggan hill!). The staff were so helpful in accommodating our extra nights, even when the tent we were staying in was no longer available. The food was tasty and there were other options for the kids (in case they didn't want the adult meal). The glamping tent was such a fun experience for all and we will definitely be back!

Very good but needs improvement in dining experience and service. We have stayed at Engadine Lodge for many years. Generally, it is a wonderful place to stay in the heart of the Kananaskis where we like to hike and cross country ski. Rooms are comfortable and clean; beds are good. The pandemic has, of course, affected how they can provide meals and how dining occurs, from guests being seated together in larger tables and meals served in a buffet or family type service to individual tables and plated meals. This has decreased some of the charm but is necessary due to the pandemic. Food quality and service was inconsistent in our recent experience and needs improvement. Afternoon "tea" is better renamed "charcuterie board" and as such, was very good, though protein heavy. However, it does not fit the description of afternoon tea. Overall, the food preparation and service needs improvement and otherwise, it remains a place we enjoy, especially with the wonderful location.

Kind. Safe. Amazing. My wife and I just got married here and it was the best week of our lives. Our 28-person party was taken care of like we were family - the staff went above and beyond to make sure we were cared for, our glasses were always topped off, and our hearts were left full. The team was also incredibly safe - our group was all vaxxed and tested negative a few days before arriving; we were told that the Mt Engadine staff were also protected and doing testing which was a mental weight lifted. This was a great feeling during COVID-19. (A week later, we tested again, all negative - safety measures work!). As others have mentioned, the lodge nestled in the valley, surrounded by mountains, is surreal. The views are breathtaking and the privacy is second to none. What are you waiting for? Book this place now!!

Perfect decompression Stayed in a glamping tent - lovely double pillow top bed, good services, hot shower, food service to the door, lovely Rocky Mountain Soaps supplies. Some noise between tents could be heard, but just during meal times. Food was amazing - almost too much!! Having the meals included in the price is a huge asset and savings. Staff remembered I was there for an occasion and provided some complimentary bevys which was very thoughtful. Enjoyed sitting around the fire pit chatting - a nice departure from the Covid isolations. Restrictions and safety were managed very well. Masking, distance in the lodge, redistribution of seating... As I had not been there before I'd be none the wiser - smooth transition. Loved the special pet wall! Seeing all family members valued is a huge bonus. Easy access to hikes and perfect jumping off point.

Be Spoiled in Gorgeous Mountain Retreat! We booked into Mt. Engadine Lodge because our 2 daughters had raved so much about their experiences in the Glamping Tents at the Lodge. So, we had a family holiday the first weekend in June with 5 of us. One couple stayed in the tent and 3 of us had 2 cabins. The views of the mountains and river plain were outstanding and the accommodations very good. What we particularly loved was the food...we were very well fed. All meals were definitely great but we particularly loved the afternoon tea and charcuterie boards (which also included homemade apple strudel the first day and squares the other). The staff were very helpful and made us feel special. We are planning another trip the end of August.

Amazing Mount Engadine experience - AGAIN As usual, the service, food, rooms, staff, etc was amazing and we would highly recommend for anyone looking for an incredibly quaint and secluded getaway for the family (including pets) or couple date night(s). The staff are so friendly and the food/ accommodations are amazing. They were super safe and considerate regarding Covid safety.

Mount Engadine - Beautiful place for a little get away This little gem sits in the Spray Lakes provincial park in Alberta. The food and service is excellent, fully catered meals and snacks. The best part is being smack in the middle of the mountains with so many outdoor activity options. We are going back with the family next month!

This place is full of magic. An all-inclusive stay in the back country of Kananaskis County. The price almost seemed too good too be true for the service, the food/drinks, and the lodge itself. What a wonderful stay. I can only see myself visiting here every year or so with my family. A true gem. I’d rate this 6 stars if I could.

Overnight or Afternoon Tea - a MUST for an Albertan back country experience I have stayed at Engadine Lodge a few times and cannot recommend it enough. If you can't do an overnight stay there then I HIGHLY recommend popping by for their "afternoon tea" (every day from 2pm - 5pm). It is the BEST reward after a day of hiking or if you just want a quiet place to relax, have a snack and enjoy the beautiful scenery. The charcuterie board is beautifully presented with an amazing variety of meats, cheeses and other accompaniments and includes tea/coffee, but if you're like me I opt for their craft beer and wine options. Depending on your appetite, I find it is enough as a lunch for me. Staff is SO great, location is easy enough to find and is surrounded by so many options for outdoor activities. Great place to stop with friends, kids or even solo.

Perfect mountain getaway First time at the lodge and it didn’t disappoint. Stunning setting, laid back and cozy atmosphere, comfortable beds and linens, great food and welcoming for families. Having the food included (and lots of it) made the stay that much easier. Loads of games for the kids to play with in the living room before meals and between courses. Great to have a packed lunch with snacks to take on our hike. Trails near the lodge are plentiful. We can’t wait to go back!

Mount Engadine Lodge Family Weekend We went to the lodge for the weekend with our 8.5 month old daughter and with 3 other couples who also have children of similar age. We had such a lovely time. The lodge is clean and well kept and the rooms are all very lovely. Ours was huge and so nice and quiet despite being in a higher traffic area. The atmosphere was very welcoming and the staff were all super friendly and helpful. They were also so great with the kids. The food exceeded our expectations, especially the afternoon "tea" which is actually a delicious charcuterie platter and cakes. The lodge location is also to die for. The view of the mountains can be seen from every window and there is a wonderful meadow right outside the front door for exploring (we snowshoed). We also took advantage of the Mount Shark cross country ski trails which were only a 10 minute drive up the road. If you are planning to do this I recommend downloading a map ahead of time. The trails are all labelled once you get there but it is hard to know where to go without a map.

Family Weekend We went out with another family in January and loved every minute of it. We stayed in the Whiskey Jack cabin for 2 nights - the beds are really comfortable and we really enjoyed the opportunity to unplug for a few days and spend some quality time together as a family. The staff are amazing and went out of their way to show us a good time. The location is perfect for a quick getaway from Calgary but remote enough to really feel like you're getting away. There's endless access to activities and we enjoyed tobogganing and snowshoeing. One of the highlights is definitely the food - the breakfasts and dinners are amazing, perfect portions and they were great at accommodating our young kids. The packed lunch was also more than enough food and I loved the afternoon cheese and charcuterie. We cant wait to go back - it's truly a gem!

Went to Engadine with our two kids 2 and 5, along with another couple and their 5YO for two nights. The staff there were always so helpful, informative and so down to earth! There were many other guests staying at the lodge as well as many day visitors who came for Sunday Brunch or Afternoon Tea. A lot of the people we chatted with who were staying there are regulars who've been going to Engadine for years with their friends, families and pets. The kids never had a dull moment. They spent the day toboganning, snowshoeing and building a snow fort. Also can't wait until they are old enough to go X-Country skiing. In the evening, kids enjoyed the numerous boardgames and puzzles in the main lodge which made for more great family bonding time. It was surreal to be spending the entire day outside with such incredible views surrounding us. Meals are served in a family-style dining room which really encouraged further mingling with other guests. It is a 7pm seating, which was late for the kids, but with all the food that they had at breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea, they really weren't even hungry anyways. And then there was the food. I seriously can't say enough about Chef Mandy Leighton! All of our dinners were to die for! Each course was so flavourful and so well thought out. Portions were generous and everything seemed to be made from scratch. Mandy even came out of the kitchen while each course was being served to explain to us what we were getting. Truly great customer service! The rooms were very comfortable and carried my favourite Rocky Mountain Soap toiletries. Overall, our weekend there really encouraged us to unplug, get outside, and be present and in the moment. Definitely would go back!

We absolutely loved it. All of the staff are friendly and the room was perfect for us. They are very accommodating for families and our baby monitor reached the Lodge which is a huge bonus for enjoying the night after the kids go down. We sat on the deck and watched the most spectacular northern lights I have ever seen. The chef is incredible.... seriously. We had fresh baked shortbread and banana bread along with a charcuterie board for afternoon tea. Then bison short ribs and smoked salmon dumplings for dinner. Pulled pork eggs benedict for breakfast. We cannot wait to come back.

winter fairy tale lodge We are from calgary and went here for a day get away for hot drinks and the cheese plate. my kids and i had a riot on the toboggan hill (its full-on, my kids started their decent from half way up the hill). Staff is very friendly and quite professional. We did have a tour of the rooms in the main lodge which were big, spacious, clean, and tastefully decorated in the alpine style. My parents came with us and struck off on a lengthy snowshoe trip which they raved about. There were other cabins we could see from the toboggan hill but didn't see inside. If i can get an overnight babysitter im definitely bringing my wife back here for a quick getaway. Maybe it was the fact that our cell phones didn't work. We loved it and will be back for a night.

Phenomenal! My wife and I just had the privilege of staying at Mount Engadine Lodge this past weekend, we were a part of my cousins wedding which took place there. Our time there was outstanding! I really can’t think of anything negative about our stay. First and foremost the staff there went above and beyond making sure we were well taken care of, they were completely selfless and met all our requests. Their attention to detail was phenomenal, Eric even came down to the fire pit with marshmallows and had all the kids find a stick for him to whittle down to make roasting sticks. From what we were told was with the recent changeover in management the staff there are all quite new, this did not show at all, they worked so well together as a team, you could tell they loved their jobs and loved to serve. The staff that was on duty this weekend was Eric, Sam, Colleen, Maira and Shea, they are an amazing team and should be recognized for the job well done. Now let me get onto the food, the Chef you have on staff there is a gem! Gerard did not disappoint us with any of the meals, definitely some of the best food we have ever eaten. I had two helpings of the salmon on Saturday night which astonished my wife because I am not typically a big fan of fish. The bag lunches are a brilliant idea as we were allowed to customize them individually with what we wanted in them and we could eat them when it was convenient for us, we even got one for Sunday for the drive home. Yet another detail that was not overlooked, he cooked specific kid friendly meals both Friday and Saturday night, as he knew the braised bison short ribs and salmon may not go over as well with the children. This was by far one of the best places my wife and I have ever stayed at, we really hope to return one day and we will be recommending it to all of our friends, the cleanliness was top notch, the service as I mentioned was unbelievable, the experience on a whole was just amazing!

The place to go near Banff and Lake Louise We stayed at Mount Engadine Lodge from August 7-11, 2005. We sandwiched it in between Banff Springs Hotel and Chateau Lake Louise. We cannot wait to come back here next summer. We will only be staying here. It is a very nice set up. The lodge is all by itself and is on a nice meadow with a huge mountain range on the other side of it. We stayed in the Whiskey Jack Cabin. The beds are very nice and comfortable. A non-chain lodging establishment can cheap out on these but they were great. It was also nice to really do whatever we wanted. Some days we would just hang out at the lodge and relax and on other days we would go out hiking. This is a very nice family place. We have a ten year old boy and a nine year old girl and they had fun. I cannot resist turning on CNN if there is a television and it was nice not to have one. The kids quickly adapted to playing the games in the main room, reading and playing outdoors. I felt my blood pressure go down by the minute. Since it is so small it would be very easy to have real young children here. Most of the guests were married couples around 50 to 70 years old but they were more active than we were. The staff and the other guests would fill us in on all the nice hikes in the area. The staff had maps to give us for the hikes. They also like to go along if the schedule permits. At first I thought that they were offering to go just to be nice but then it became apparent that they enjoy going on a hike with anybody even if they were going with a slug like me. Their outgoing pleasantness was contagious. It is on a gravel road but any sedan will have no problems driving here in the summer. I cannot comment on the winter driving. The contrast between here and Banff and Lake Louise was staggering. At those places we were in constant comptetion for resources but here we could just relax. It also cost less for the entire stay here than for room and board for just one night at the other places. The staff rotates in and out on 7 to 10 day shifts so it is very easy to get to know them. Natalie, Jennifer, Tom and Brad were there during our stay and made it a wonderful time.
